My name is Jerry Hutchison. My wife, Janet, and I are Registered Nurses, and nationally Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. I am also a Certified Nutritionist, and Certified Well-Being Coach. We have worked with clients with diabetes for 35 years and sincerely enjoy every minute of it. Our clients have learned so they can live longer and we learn more and more from their experiences.
My wife and I got started in diabetes education 35 years ago because our senior son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 10 months old. He could not talk at that time but we learned a tremendous amount about diabetes management raising him. He continues to teach us about diabetes management and various devices he has used or is using to control his diabetes.
In the last couple of years, due to COVID restrictions, we have been doing digital coaching and telecommunication visits with clients. We see this as a true step in the future of diabetes management. Being available easier and quicker in the clients time of need is crucial in changing their lives and managing their disease.
Working through the internet allows us the opportunity to reach out much further than the small area we have physically covered in the past. There are some clients that have little delay getting an appointments for help. There are others that have a tremendous amount of problems getting help. We hope to be available for all as quickly as we can via webmail.
We have set up a subscription service on the internet that allows us to take emails. This way we will be prepared for when you have questions. You may have been just diagnosed; or been diagnosed for years; or you may not even have diabetes, just helping a loved one. We just want to help too. The subscription is a way to ask questions and get answers quickly (usually less than 3 days) via email. Maybe several emails in a month depending on the topic and your needs. That is much less than the clinic or hospital charges for a half hour session in one visit that you waited for a month or more to receive. That is if they even offer appointments for diabetes education and management. Get a subscription with us. We would love to help you as quickly as we can.
