June 20, 2023—The Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists’ (ADCES) 2023 Annual Conference (ADCES23) will take place from Friday, August 4 through Monday, August 7 in Houston, Texas. ADCES23 will bring together diabetes care and education specialists from across the nation to learn, network and problem-solve while exploring topics that will allow them to provide the best possible care to people with diabetes, prediabetes and other cardiometabolic conditions.
This year’s conference is a special one, as ADCES is commemorating its 50th anniversary as an association. Recognition of this milestone will be on display throughout the conference, including in the opening general session.
Additional highlights of the conference will include an exhibit hall featuring more than 150 exhibitors, hands-on training labs, education theaters, and 124 education sessions. Sessions will cover topics in six key areas:
- Technology integration
- Equitable care for diverse individuals and populations
- Psychosocial/behavioral health
- The business of providing cost effective and quality care
- Mitigating Therapeutic Inertia Through Team-Based Care
- Diabetes and The Cardiometabolic Continuum
This year’s keynote speakers will discuss strategies for relating to people of different ages and understanding what it takes to bring people together in a time of change, as well as identifying ways to mitigate burnout, secondary traumatic stress, empathic distress fatigue, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.
